Trouble Playing WordSmart Program on My Computer
I have a Dell computer with Windows XP and have had very few problems with it. But as I have attempted to play a program DVD by WordSmart I am getting a message from my computer which tells me I need to reinstall MFC71.DLL. I do not know from which Dell installation disc I must reinstall it or whether it is some sort of computer glitch. I have never gotten this message from any other software before.

That is a file used by Microsoft "Visual Studio" and some programs will install that (or update it) if needed and some will not. See THIS from Microsoft. It may update what you need.

Fireberd,
Thank you very much for trying to help me. I downloaded Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Service Pack 1 last night (it took hours). But it still didn't help. The same message "The application failed to start because MFC71.DLL was not found" appeared again when I tried to play the WordSmart program disc.
Do you have any other suggestions? Would it possibly help if I downloaded the Dell Dimension ResourseCD again?
Thank you

If you have the same software installed on another computer, and you are not getting the error there, you can try copying that file over. Normally, the MFC libraries are included with the application to ensure it works correctly. Sometimes they are not included because it is assumed the computer will already have it.
