Typing Response in Internet Explorer 7,8 using Inspiron 1545

Hi,

I recently bought an Inspiron 1545.  When typing text in IE8 (i.e. hotmail or forums such as this), i get a slow or no response when I type (i.e. typing "not good" could yield "nt gd" This problem doesn't exist when using google chrome or other applications such as notepad.

A Norton 360 scan doesn't detect any viruses etc.

Problem existed in IE7 too, I had hoped upgrading to IE8 might have fixed the problem but it didn't.

Has anyone come across this problem before ? If so any help in solving would be great

Thanks.

Actually. Found the answer on the Microsoft foum (Simple reset worked for me)

FYI:

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Answers Forum.  There are a couple of things I would like for you to try.  First I would like to set all of IE’s defaults back.  Click on “Tools” on the Menu Bar and click on Internet Options.  When the Internet Options window opens click on the Advanced tab.  Locate the Reset Internet Explorer settings section and click on the “Reset” button.  Close and re-open IE.  Try typing.  If everything is working as it should we are done, if not, move on to the next suggestion.

Second we need to see if an Add-on is possibly causing the problem.  Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer no Add-Ons.  Once it is open try typing.  If it types normally then we will know it is an add-on causing the problem.  Close IE and re-open it normally.  Click on the “Tools” button on the Menu Bar and click on Manage Add-Ons.  Disable all of your Add-ons and re-enable them 1 at a time until you locate the source of the problem.
