Unable to delete previous user ... Please help

Hi

I am trying to delete the previous user account from my new machine - it is an ex display model and I cannot delete the User - am getting the following message:

the action cant be completed because the folder or file in it is open in another program

The folder is not open in another programme ...

Please help!

Looks like I have now sorted this problem by simply CUTTING the offending USER file from C drive ... :emotion-1:

Have you tried to go into safe mode by restarting an pressing F8 and then attempting? But by default if you are not the main administrator you will not be able to remove as all paths go to the owner as then said please confirm that you are the owner or the one who installed the OS because it has a possiabailty to become unstable if the path in not correct.

Thats good to here i am sorry that i was unable to help let alone give suggestions. but remember that safe mode is always there if you need it.
