Unsigned Drivers and SP2

You might want to get a heads-up on your unsigned drivers before downloading SP2. To check your entire system do the following:

1) Click on Start, click on Run, type sigverif, and then click on OK. File Signature Verification opens.

2) Click on Advanced to open the Advanced File Signature Verification Settings dialog box.

3) Click on Look for other files that are not digitally signed.

4) In the Look in this folder box, enter SystemRoot\system32\drivers, where SystemRoot is the folder in which Windows XP is installed usually (C:\Windows). Then click OK.

5) Click on Start to begin.

6) The results are copied to the log file Sigverif.txt, which is located in the SystemRoot folder. (Or just do a search on it). In the status column, look for files listed as NOT SIGNED.


MY MACHINE: Nero, Gear, MusicMatch, Pinnacle, and a few other apps, may not be functional. lol
