Which programs are you trying to update? You could provide more useful information if when you get the error message to send the report to Microsoft, you click on the link to show the error report, then tell us the AppName and ModName involved in the error.
that samething happens to me to (error in to microsoft) I cant update my (paint shop pro X ) or my (photo explosion Deluxe) I have a Dell Dimension 9100 media center Edition which i bought in Aug I hope you find a answer for this update I also posted about my webcam a month ago no reply on that either
