Upgraded to XP Pro and can't see peripherals

I've graded a Dimension 4500s to XP Pro using the XP CD from my XPS computer.  I cannot see the monitor or wireless network card and cannot get to a MS wizard to help me. Any ideas?

You cannot use the xp pro cd from another computer to upgrade/reinstall on your 4500 unless it also had XP Pro. You need to reformat and go back to the original os. If it did have Pro, you need to install the Chipset Drivers first. The drivers are available from the Dell download site.

If its a Dell computer, any Win XP OS CD (DELL) will work

So you've "upgraded" to Win XP Pro.

You cannot see the monitor? What do you mean?

You cannot see your wireless card? do you have a network card installed?

Which microsoft wizard?

So I assume you mean when it loads Windows XP, it loads in 4 color format. Which prolly means you need to install your video drivers. Have you installed any of your drivers period? You should have a Dell Dimension Resource CD. You will need to install 4 drivers from that CD starting with Chipset, Video, Audio, and any NIC (ie Wireless Card, Lan Network Card) Drivers.

I've re-installed XP on my Dim 4500s using the XP Pro CD from my XPS computer. The Dimension has a 15" flat panel monitor and when the OS boots the screen comes up in 4 bit color and I haven't been able to change in or load a driver.

Legally, the Operating System that is supplied with a new PC is only licensed for the PC it was delivered with.  If you have, for example 10 Dell's and 5 were delivered with XP Home and 5 were delivered with XP Pro, you cannot install Pro on one of the Home PC's or vice versa a Home version on a Pro PC.  If may sound flukey but it's the way they are licensed, by Microsoft.
