User Password

Windows Vista Prem. Get the Dell Logo screen. go to F2 set up.  That page asks for password. I put in my current.  Then I go to User Password. It wants me to type in a Password, WHAT I WANT TO DO IS DISABLE USERPASS WORD.  At the bottom of that page it has Change, Disable, etc password but How do I get to disable. It won,t let me go to those choices with up-down no cursor.  I just want the Dell Logo on start and then go to Vista without entering passwor to get to Vista.  THANKS

Setup/bios doesn't have a cursor. You use the arrow keys and enter to navigate. Just follow the directions on the screen. However, the user password is not disabled in setup--that is the bios password there. User Logon is controlled in User Accts. You can automate login so you don't have to use a password every time. Look up Store passwords for automatic logon in Help for complete directions.

Do you have the passwords enabled in the BIOS?  If you do, that is outside of Vista, and would need to be disabled from within the BIOS (F2 at startup).

Yes Password is enabled in F2 in user act. But when I go to user acct in BIOS and scroll down to USER ACCT and hit enter a red box comes up wanting me to enter PASSWORD. I cannot go anyplace el;se until I put in my passwor. How do or what do I need to do when it ask me for the password. I just want to get rid of having to enter password to get to OS. THANKS
