Most after market cards will do just fine as long as they have a minimum of 128 dedicated RAM.

recently added a card to nieces pc so i'm well rehearsed on procedure. . . .someone ripped the vga connector from back of pc

The video card is not going to pull that much juice.  I like nVidia.

Read the install instructions carefully, you will have to disable the onboard video for the new card to work.

what's the BEST quality card i can use without upgrading power supply? would i be able to go as high as 512mb?
