Virtual Memory Size for Windows XP Professional

I have a Dell Dimension 8250 3.06GHz with 1GB memory, running Windows XP Professional.  Currently for the virtual memory setting, I have the following:

Paging file size for selected drive section says:
Drive:  C
Space available:  84497MB
Custom size is checked and Initial size (MB) is set to 768 and Maximum size (MB) is set to 1536.

At the bottom of the screen where it says Total paging file size for all drives, it says:
Minimum allowed:  2MB
Recommended:  1533MB
Currently allocated:  768MB

Can someone give me a recommendation as to how I should set this up?  Thanks!

Hi,

I believe that setting aside more than 1GB is just a waste of space, so I would reduce the maximum value to 1GB

Let Windows handle it. WindowsXP does a *MUCH* better job that it did in Win9x, so there really is no reason to mess with it.
