Vista Stop Error??

Question

Has anyone experienced this error with Windows Vista Ultimate Bit??   This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)       Description: Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 24. In Device Manager, under show hidden devices, I see the PS/2 mouse icon with a yellow triangle and an exclamation point.  When I am using my computer, everything is fine.  If I leave it alone for a little while (eating dinner) or over night, it will reboot and the above errors are what I am seeing.   Any help at this point would be great.  This problem happens with either a Logitech or Microsoft keyboard or mouse.  Or any combination of both brands.  I have not tried to use the system with a wired mouse and keyboard, and do not want to resort to those items.  I think Vista should work better than this.  Thanks, ephstopz  :robotmad:

Since you don't need a PS2 driver, disable the PS2 Mouse in Device Manager.

I have tried to disable the PS/2 mouse in device manager.  It re-loads during the next start-up or reboot.  If I plug in a wired mouse, the yellow warning triangle is no longer present.  Could this be an IRQ error?? ANd if so, how do I resolve it?? Or, is this a bug in Vista that is unknown??  Again, I hope someone can offer some help. Thank you, ephstopz.  :robotmad:

What is you hardware info? Do you have a PS2 mouse port?
