What is a Base System Device

Question

I have 3 devices under device manager that have a yellow exclamation point called Base System Device. Does anyone know what this means? I need to update the drivers.

I'm using a Vostros laptop 1400, with winxp pro

Did you happen to reinstall your OS? If you did, that means that you did not download the chipset drivers and install them.   You can find them HERE.

Thanks for the info. I ended up finding out that I needed the drivers for the sd slot.

Make sure you install all of the drivers for the system. The full list, and the order they should be installed in are:
