Why is system32 folder opening on startup?
On my new dimension 8400 running XP home, the system32 folder opens on startup.
How do I stop this from happening?
Is it something to do eith msconfig?
Thanks
Ewan

If you use Registry Editor incorrectly or third-party software modifies the registry mistakenly/accidentaly, this issue could occur.
Check this out; http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;170086
Case 2. Any device drivers for third-party PCI cards behaves badly, or a device driver for an audio sound card shipped with Dell computer causes the issue.
You may identify this by uninstalling possible driver or PCI expansion card/s. If the issue corresponds to the case 2, try finding a driver update from Dell or the vendor.
Hope this helps.
