Win98 on OPtiplex Gx520
Hi
I need to urgently install Windows 98 on a new Optiplex Gx520 temporarily but unfortunately the system hangs on Logo screen after setup. Guess its an incompatability with the Hardware of some kind?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

From a peak at the user's guide on Dell it appears that Win XP, and maybe Win 2000, are the only OS's supported on this system. The downloads site shows only OS non-specific files so I would imagine that there may be some devices on your machine that Win 98 has no drivers for. This could be the cause of the hang-up.
My response assumes that you are booting from the Win 98 setup disk and that you are re-partitioning/formatting the drive in preparation for a clean install. If this is not what you have done, I recommend doing this as your hard drive is certain to contain things that Win 98 will not recognize.
