Windows 7 64 Bit Disk Install Issue
My computer is a Studio 1735 which had 32 bit Vista OS. The computer is 64 bit capable. I recently installed Windows 7 as an upgrade at 32 bit. I have decided I want to do a clean install at 64 bit. However, now when I insert the Windows 7 64 bit disk it tells me it is the wrong disk (or something like that). Is there any way I can get past this so I can do the clean install?

Legirons,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Are you booting to the Win7 64 bit disk to format and reinstall?

Not sure I understand the question. I have tried rebooting the computer with the disk in the drive. How would I do what you suggest?

When you turn on the computer start hitting F12 and this will give you the choise of what to boot from, select CD/DVD and follow the directions from there.
