Windows 7 Display

I'd be glad if someone could help me.

- BRAND NEW DELL INSPIRON N7110

- WIN 7 HOME PREMIUM

Everytime the UAC window pops up, all program windows (e.g. firefox, ie, windows explorer etc.) aren't maximized no more. There's always a little space left above the program window and you can see the desktop. However Fullscreen videos and etc. work fine. Before a UAC message popup the window of programs fits to the screen as usual.

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies and solutions.

Do you actually have the windows maximized or just manually sized to fit the screen?

On one of the programs that this happens, click the icon to the left of the "Red X" in the upper left corner and see if the screen maximizes.  If it does that indicates you didn't have it in the maximized mode and after maximizing you need to close the windows (click on the Red X), then open the program again and it should always open maximized.

firebed thanks for your reply,

I know what you mean, but I'm maximizing the windows by pressing the square button (between the minimize (-) button and the close (X) button) and it's like the windows do maximize but they don't touch the end of the top, there's space where you can see the desktop. When I turn on my pc everythings fine, but after UAC pops up it sort of resizes the window frame, because the shortcuts on desktop and windows 7 gadgets are also shifted a liitle more down.

Here's a screenshot to imagine the issue:

I also installed the newest NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 525M GRAPHICS DRIVER, but it didn't help.

I found out that if I right click on taskbar > properties > and switch tasbar location to top and then back to bottom the annoying free space dissapears and the windows are maximized normally, but after UAC pops up the problem occurs again.

I'd appreciate if anybody has a good solution.
