Windows Live Messenger

When I tried to log in to my old MSN messenger, it gave me an error message 800401f3... and it's been doing that for a while so I got the new Windows Live Messenger and it did the same thing. I went to a different place that told me to run these dll's and stuff, but that didn't help either. I already tried re-installing and all that, but I don't know what's wrong
