Windows Servicing Setup API - updspapi.dll / HOW THE HECK DO I GET RID OF THIS!

Apparently from what I have read on the web when windows updated my PC it left some junk in my D: slave drive. I have two folders that are named 53a944c0c0730745083ae1b7 and  cb7ce56721e3d008c05e332d neither can be removed. When I try te remove I get:

Can not delete updspapi.dll Make sure that the disc is not full or write protected or that the file is not in use.

So far I have tried starting the PC in safe mode and tried to delete the folders that way but no such luck.

HELP.

TIA<

Tried that reg cleaner and it did nothing, it seems that it just cleanes the C: master drive.

FWIW I tried CC Cleaner (which you can set to delete what youy want on the D: drive) and that would not remove it. I have searched all over on how to remove this and although I see posts on problems like mine I can not find a answer how to get rid of the MS junk. I called Dell and they would not help unless I shelled out lots of $$. The problem started after reformatted my C: master drive and then did the MS updates. I did have similiar files on my C: drive but I was able to just delete them, Not so with the D: drive as they will not budje.

Wonder if I back up everything on my D: drive to my external HD and then reformat the D:? Would anyone think that that would work?

Fixed,

What I did was to back up all files and folders to my external HD EXCEPT the two updspapi.dll  folders. Then I did a quick reformat of the D: and then reinstalled the backed up folders and files. All is well.............
