Windows XP Pro Bootup Screen

I recently upgraded my system to Windows XP Pro from Windows XP Home Edition and when I bootup to the Windows XP screen all it says is Windows XP and not Windows XP Pro.

Is this normal? It no longer says Windows XP Home Edition on the Windows XP Bootup Screen but I thought that now it should say Windows XP Pro.

Anyone have an answer for this or have noticed the same thing upon upgrading? Please let me know? Thanks!

Do you have Windows XP SP2? If you do, that is why you no longer see the Professional in the boot up screen.  Hope this helps.

The splash screen that appears at startup does not display the complete Windows XP version information:

That's quite the nosedive MS has done with the "new and improved" Knowledge Base.  In the old version, when they didn't have a fix for something, they'd at least include the words "This is by design" in the article.  Now, they just tell you what you already knew, and that's the end of that.
