Quite the opposite is true.

Dell support told me it is. Perhaps if the company is wrong, someone should tell them. I just repeated what their tech support said in answer to this question. I couldn't find the answer anywhere in my system. Do you know how to find it?

Right click the My Computer icon select properties.

If it doesn't say " Windows XP Professional 64 " then it is 32 bit.

In answer to all that responded. You are all correct. I received the wrong info the first time. It is apparently unusual to have a 64 bit system if you're a small or individual user, according to the latest response from DELL.
Unless that too is wrong, I guess that covers it. Thanks for the responses.
