Yeah I tried that.. I put in my Dell Re-installation cd and did a repair installation all the way through and had the same problem as soon as everything started back up, Also Iput in the dell reinstallation disk and went into the recovery console and couldnt find anything in there.
Well we had this issue here at my work on two PCs and I had to put a new drive in and reinstall the OS and programs. I couldn't find any solution to this.... I was just faster for me to put a new drive in and reimage....

Have you tried running a repair on the OS?? Boot to your Windows XP CD and do the second repair...
