Windows XP optical mouse driver

Question

I recently bought a Dimension 9100 running XP. I used software (intellimover) to transfer files from old computer (running ME) to my new one. In doing so, I think I must have transfered the old mouse driver into my XP system. My optical mouse no longer works, but when I move the old optical mouse from the old ME computer to the new one, it works fine. Can anyone tell my how to get the XP optical mouse driver back? rm

Have you tried to remove the present driver on your XP system and then reboot to force it to re-install the driver?  Device Manager >> open the device name and right-click the mouse and uninstall then reboot.  That might work for you.

The Intellimover software sets a restore point at installation.  The option is to restore the computer prior to installing IntelliMover.  The data will remain, but all settings will return to the XP setting prior to the transfer.
