I had one like this-your going to do some typing hope your up for this,but it worked for me.Go to the microsoft support page-look up error msgs.I think yours is just like mine,you should see it.Print out the instructions and your going to have to follow them EXACTLY TO THE LETTER.If you take your time and follow them right--CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU PRESS ENTER-- maybe 40 minutes.
I am in the process of restoring it now. I found (on the link given here in this forum) to use the "Ctrl" key and "F11" when loading the computer, luckly my computer has a partion that allows for a total restore. It is almost done, and I beleive this should fix the problem.

The Registry has become corrupt and I would suggest a repair installation of XP.
