Windows root\system32\hal.dll. Not able to boot the system

Hi All,

I have a Dell 700m with XP Professional. I created another partition using Partition Magic. Now I was trying to restore to factory installed Image and I was not getting the option, so I modified the bootup command in MyComputer->properties->advanced tab and enter partition(3).

Now I am not able to get into the system. It is showing me an error \system32\hal.dll is corrupt or missing.

I tried to boot using Windos OS CD I made from my system. It is not allowing me to get into DOS also. Help..
