Winzip

Hi Guys.....

Hope someone can help me with this one:  I purchased a Dell system in 1999 with Windows 98.  The package included Winzip software.  When a virus hit, the Winzip software was deleted.  Isn't there some way to legally download another copy without going through http://www.winzip.com (as Dell instructed) and paying for another copy?  Dell must have a record somewhere that shows I did purchase the software.....

This may not be the best Dell forum for this request, so, if anyone has a better suggestion, I would indeed appreciate it....

Many thanks for help here.....

Bruce

Have you gone through the Dell restore CD's to look for it?  Usually anything that is supplied with the PC is restoreable with one of the restore CD's.  Check the Applications CD to start.

If you have an immediate problem, Winzip provides a free "evaluation only" copy for personal use.

Get WinRAR it more powerful it does the same as winzip but you can also chop up archives and it will re assemble them.
