It's helpful to provide full info when posting.

 

This is a Dimension 1100, bought refurbished from eBay, 80gb hard drive with 50gb free, 512mb of memory.  During Windows Updates, the plug was pulled out.  Repair completed but the problem still exists.  CTRL F11 not an option as data isn't backed up.

Sorry I should have posted the details on my machine, anyway I'm now getting this error....

 

explorer.EXE - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to
terminate the application.

 

I can also start the system up in safe mode, and have access to the recovery console.

Anybody know a fix for this error.
