XP on Inspiron 531 with RAID 1

I have been trying to get XP Home installed on Inspiron 531 with "Dell Data Safe" (RAID 1) that originally had Vista Basic.
Specs.
A64 X2 5000+ (2.60ghz)
128mb nvidia 8300GS
2gb ddr2 sdram, 667mhz
2 250gb sata hdd (connected to Sata 0 and Sata 1 on motherboard)
48x cdrw/dvd combo drive (sata)
No floppy
V.92/56k pci modem
BIOS 1.0.7

I have XP Home with sp2 full version. I bought a new 250gb hard drive and swapped with one of the original ones so I could save Vista for later. Reformatted drives and downloaded 531 XP drivers from this site.

Followed directions for integration of nvidia nForce Raid (and Sata) drivers using nLite from this site.

Serial-ATA Configuration in Bios is as follows:
Sata Controller Sata-1+2
RAID Enabled Enabled
SATA 1 Primary RAID Enabled
Sata 1 Secondary RAID Enabled
Sata 2 Primary RAID Disabled
Sata 2 Secondary RAID Disabled

Raid is set as boot and shows healthy. XP installs fine and when it restarts for the first time I get very fast unreadable BSOD then reboot. The screen comes up about using Safe Mode etc. and no matter what I choose it does the same thing.
When using Safe Mode with command prompt choice the last file shown before reboot is mup.sys.

If I disable raid and install again I can get XP to work but I can't get a bootable raid.

Any ideas on getting this to work?

I could be wrong here but I think you'll need xp pro if you intend to use raid configuration.

Home will do harware raid, just not software raid, so you have another problem preventing it from booting.

Try using the Raid drivers linked to on the page you posted

I tried those drivers too but get the same results.

I tried a bootleg version of xp pro and of course that worked but I'd rather have the legal XP Home version that I paid for installed.

I know other people have gotten XP Home to work in hardware RAID 1 but I haven't seen any info on it working on the 531.

I finally got it to work. The only thing I did different was to click on unattended install with nLite and I added my license key, user name, etc.

Now no more reboots! :)

I'm posting this in case anyone else has this problem and hasn't tried this.
