XPS M1330 - Dell Recovery Partition
Hi all, I have accidentally deleted Dell Recovery Partition (DSR) from my laptop (located in D:) - I am using windows vista ultimate edition. I was wondering if anyone could guide me how can I restore or get them back so I can restore it as when I first bought it? I don't mind to reformat or delete all my files if necessary. Hope to hear from you. Many thanks, Borneo

Hi Borneo,
Welcome to the Community.
Recovery Partition cannot be recovered, you can always perform re-installation of the windows using the disk sent with the system.
Refer to the link mentioned below for more information on installation of operating system:

You are posting on the Linux Forum as far as I know Dell didn't sell this model with Linux but only Windows XP and Vista. Thus the recovery partition will be for one of the Windows OS. Once an OS has manually been installed the recovery partition is useless and you need to manually install Windows.
As Windows XP is reaching End of Life and Windows 7 is superior to both XP and Vista you should consider installation of Windows 7.
To do this follow Windows Reinstallation Guide/A Clean Install of Windows 7:

In addition use the following Unofficial Driver sets:

I have merged your 2 threads together on the same topic to the Microsoft OS Forum.
