XPS Studio 8100, OS image, Windows 7 Home Premium
I have an XPS Studio 8100 wherein the HDD went bad. Drive is replaced but i need to reinstall the OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I tried using the Dell OS recovery tool but it states, for the service tag: "No OS Images Defined for this product". Though the driver page accepts it fine. I have searched around and am currently downloading the ISO from Microsoft using a tool I found as posted by Phillip Yip. But I need to know how to proceed correctly. Or any other suggestions.

In looking through other posts i came across one form Phillip_Yip:
at the bottom of this thread:
https://www.dell.com/community/Desktops-General/unable-to-restore-factory-image-on-xps-8100/td-p/5015215
which lead me to this:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/windows-7-sp1-iso-download/#Windows7SP1Techbench
I was able to download the .iso , install and activate using the Key from my COA.
Great success !
