bad_pool_caller error message when upgrading xp home to xp pro
Hi everybody,
I am unable to install XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 2400 without getting an error message and blue screen.. I have never had a problem before upgading XP home to XP Pro.
I get the error message
bad_pool_caller and "make sure the hardware or software is properly installed" ....restart computer and press F8 and select safe mode"
Technical info
"stop 0x00000cc2(0x00000007 0x00000cd4 0x00340045 0xe1163cd24).
The computer is all original configuration from Dell without any modifications. Every time i restart the computer i get directed to the instillation and it gives me the blue screen again when it hits the 34 min remaining mark. I realize that it is probably a hardware or driver conflict and was wondering if anybody knew what drivers or hardware were causing the problem. I would hate to have to format the whole hard drive and reinstall everything completely over. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Doug
