You can unblock messeges from someone who is online who is sending you an instant message.

In Outlook Express, in the Contacts pane, double-click the name of the contact whose messages you want to unblock.
In the instant message window, click Unblock.
Now this person can see your online status and send you messages.

You can also unblock messages from someone who is not online.

In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, point to the name of your messenger service, and then click Options.
Click the Privacy tab.
In the My Block list, click the name of the person you want to unblock, and then click Allow.

Thanks but I do not use messenger. Let me repeat my question. In using outl;ook express  I can block a sender. If I take this action and then go to the blocked sender list I'll see the URL of that pparty. But when I close out of Outlook Express the system automatically puts that URL into the deleted message box and thus erases it. How is this action different from simply deleting the message to begin with????

It is different because it gives the *impression* that the sender had been blocked and that makes you feel secure.
