can not send email
ok if did a search i seend this quest has been asked before but I could not find an answer to the question, so.
I can not send email I can receive but not send. And my ISP did NOT change, and I can send and receive email from my notebook but not my Dell Dimension. My Dell Dimension came from Dell with Vista installed so I am using windos live email on it. My notebook has windows XP on it. I can also send and receive on my old desk top, running windows XP also, that is setting next to my new Dell. So I am thinking it is either a Dell problem or a
Windows Vista Home Premium.
The error I am receiving is:
"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'my account', Server: 'mail.myserver.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Ok it is windows mail my mistake. The problem is with Vista not Dell.
I called Microsoft support it cost me $35 just to talk to them.
Here is what I found out.
“Microsoft windows mail has a known problem that allows a hacker to take
advantage of. In this case a hacker has made a worm that attacks windows mail
and disables windows mail from sending email. Microsoft hopes to get a patch out for this
sometime this year. [ They are in no hurry from what I could understand]
Now here is the how the Microsoft tech that I had to pay $35 to talk to told me to do to fix
Microsoft windows mail. He said, “Format my hard drive and reinstall windows Vista
and hope I do not get the worm again before the patch comes out.”
So for $35 I was told Microsoft know there is a problem and basically does no care.
And to format my hard drive and reinstall windows Vista. :-[
Hope this helps some of you others
Do not waste your money to talk to a Microsoft tech as I did
