for some reason, i can't open more than one internet explorer browser. when i launch a new one, the old one closes. i tried fiddling with the preferences and options but nothing has worked. it just started doing this last night. help? thanks.

This sounds suspiciously like a virus or possibly a browser hijacker or malware package. Ensure that your antivirus software has been fully updated with the most recent virus and worm definitions, and perform a complete system scan. If this does not resolve the error, you may also need to run an excess software removal tool on your system such as AdAware or SpyBot.

Pop up blocking software may also keep multiple browsers from opening. If you have pop up blocking software, try disabling it then try to open another browser.

Good Luck,

Greg

What happens if you unselect it?

Under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced, do you have "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" selected?

Try the proceedure listed here and see if this helps you.

Actually your Yahoo and Google Toolbars both have pop-up blockers. Removing one of these may have fixed your problem . . .
