clean up memory

how do i completly whipe out all memory on my dell ok ok the real question is how do i clean my hard drive i mean i want my computer to start up like it's new like i just got it

Why would you want to do that? Did you have some sort of memory resident virus? If so you can purge memory to eliminate that issue. Shut your system down (provided you have no data on the hard disk). Pull the memory sticks from the DIMM slots. Power the system up and you should hear beeps from no memory being present in the system (this will purge the memory as once the sticks have no power in them there can be nothing to read as resident. Also powering up the system
without the sticks allows the system to purge any memory reads (the beeps show no memory present), therefore purges anything referring to memory. Once you hear those beeps, shut down the system. reinstall your memory sticks, then you are done!

You right click on My Computer, and the first page will show you how much RAM your system has!

D-Dragon,

You don't have any memory on your hard disk. You have storage space. If you wish to clean all the information out of that storage space, one of the free programs here will do that for you.
