datasafe login problem

The datasafe client login keeps rejecting either my user name or password. I have reset the password using the online portal, but to no avail. An uninstall/reinstall doesn't work. Has anyone had experience with this.

Just to clarify, are you experiencing this issue with both the client and website or just the client? I know I asked in the other thread as well but: are you a UK customer or somewhere else? Are you installing the latest version of the software (downloaded from the delldatasafe.com website) or perhaps an older version from an install CD? Does your password by chance have an ampersand (& ) character in it?

I am in Canada and am using client 1.0 again after having problems with the 1.1 update on my laptop. The website accepts my username and password, the client doesn't. Client 1.0 works on my home computer.

I don't see why there would be a problem logging in per se but I do know that the 1.0 client isn't really supposed to work anymore. They changed a lot of stuff behind the scenes for 1.1 so it's basically a forced upgrade if you want to preserve functionality. What issues were you having with the update? Did you try to just download it directly from delldatasafe.com?

It seems that the problem was with my wireless router. Everything worked great with the 1.1 client and wired networking. The 1.0 client still works without problem on my wired desktop (oddly enough the 1.1 client brings up a NET.framework error)
