dell support software... buggy... interfer with Cyberlink Director 8

I was using Cyberlink Director 8  ~5pm yesterday.  Downloaded  a suggested update for latest dell support software  ~8pm.   Went to continue my project today and both Dell support software and Cyberlink continue to get "failure" messages in windows to "close program" and search for solution.  I've attempted to removed dell support software and reinstall POwerdirect twice.  still getting fatal error :(

 

thoughts?

OS :   Win Vista

Dell  Inspiron 1525

software issues:   Dell Support Software   & Cyberlink Powerdirector 8

Use the System Restore and restore the PC to a date PRIOR to installing the updates.  Assuming the updates are the problem that should fix it. 

System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

I hadn't know about the restore feature (great to have learned thanks).  Unfortunately my initially Restore didn't work.  I kept going back a step at a time.  Then I stopped that because I was getting the same message.

 

HOWEVER.... combining a RESTORE and a reinstalling of PowderDirector, I have my software working again.
