dial up ISP installation question

Greetings:

I am thinking of switching dial up ISP to Netscape.  I have a CD from them but would it be better to just go through the Windows internet set up wizard?  I just don't want to pollute my hard drive with unnecessary software although Netscape claims they have a "web accelerator".  Perhaps you need to use the CD to have this feature.

Thank you.

Someone may correct me, but I believe Netscape is like AOL. You cannot connect to the internet (using Netscape or AOL as your internet provider)without using the software.

That is one of the reasons I left AOL, not so much the fact that I had to install the AOL software to connect to the internet, but the bloat.

I use Earthlink, and I could connect without the software, but since they offer free FTP space, and web accelerator, and the Earthlink mailbox, why not?

P.S. You could try it, if you have a screen name and password. If it won't work, you'll probably need the software. You may call Netscape and talk to the tech department on setting up your dial-up connection.
