different views for different folders

Although I have applied the view "details" to all folders and files, I would like to have a few selected folders and files viewed as "icons."  So under Advanced Setup: Files and Folders, I checked the "Remember each folder's view settings" box.  The system doesn't remember however and I have to select the "Icon" view each time it is desired.

How do I make the system remember the exceptions (usually as "Icons") to the generally selected "Details" view?

Go to this page http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and download the second fix listed to increase the amount of folder views.  Easiest way is to download it to your desktop, click on it after its installed and it will automatically run the fix and increase your folder view size.  Hopefully, it will fix your problem.  Kip

I have done this and it still doesn't work.

I want to see Icons in my Control Panel, and details in Windows Explorer.  Even the patch didn't fix it.  I'm tremendously frustrated.  It seems that telling XP to remember each folder's view is completely non-functional.
