It sounds like an unregistered dll, probably in "Dr Watson" cache. Dr Watson is a debug program. It isn't serious, just annoying.
click Start, click Run, and then type drwtsn32
then press OK
See what happens

Hi
I had the same problem since I bought a Dell Laptop (D810) and the solution is the following:
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Dell QuickSet from Dell web site and now, everthing works fine. No more error message occurs during this last month.
I have flashed the BIOS too the same day.
Yours sincerely

Bonjour

Cordialement

Hi I have the same issue: "I received the following message while shutting down my computer the other day. "dwwin.exe-DLL Initialization Failed". And also, upon shutting down an error about "Groove Monitor", which fails to initialize.

Can anyone help me solve these 2 errors, please?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Simona

Hi,, thanks for the reply, but my problem is a little bit different. Here's what I got from the events that appear upon shuting down the laptop:

Application popup: dwwin.exe - DLL Initialization Failed : The application failed to initialize because the window station is shutting down.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

If anyone  can find what's happening, please let me know.

My pc cannot access the above link.

Many thanks,

simona

You could try here. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1029715523 Read all the thread. Only proceed if you are happy with hacking the registry. Note the space before /
