entry point not found
My problem started with my computer freezing up for about a minute at each new web page but everthing else was working fine. I called my cable company and they said everthing looked fine and said I should try reinstalling IE. The freezing up was making that a pain so I decided to reinstall XP. During the install I got the message
SPINGFLD_ADV_DAEMON:WksCal.exe-Entry Point The procedure entry point GetIums cannot be located in the dynamic link library. When I started the computer after the install I got a message to reinstall the sound card driver so I reinstalled SB Live but still got a diagnostic fail and instructions to do it again so I thought I'd turn to system restore but I got a message that it's entry point could not be found. I'm desperate now someone help please.

Hi Gord51
Could you tell me how r u installing your windows XP. R U installing it by putting the CD in desktop and running setup, the reason i asked this is because wkscal.exe is the works calender file and u will get an error only when u r installing the above way. If u want to install windows xp then take a backup and do a clean reinstallation. This will take care of all the problems u have stated.
U have some snapshots for installation

Gord51,
Before you go nuts on a clean reinstall of windows do a search on this forum using the keywords ..
getiums msdart.dll
This will list previous users with the same condition and a proposed fix.
www.tdatacorp.com/faq/dartfix.bat
I had the same problem you had on the weekend and tried the same fix ie reload windows, and I have the same problem you do with the stupid message.
I'm going to try the fix tonight.
Good luck!

The above link is for a parallel install (Not recommended by Microsoft) not a Clean Install either.
I have shown the supersite link last as it assumes Clean Install status so doesn't include step to delete existing partition at step 5 & so achieve Clean Install status.
Use this link & select XP Home or PRO then method , ie: Used Hard Drive , Multi_Page has text & large pictures of Clean Install.
http://www.windowsreinstall.com/
Use this link for Clean Install of XP , if you click on Pictures they Expand for easy view
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html (Delete existing partition at step 10b for Clean Install)
or use this link ( *** Delete existing partition at step 5 for Clean Install ***)
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp
Clean Install deletes existing partition (like FDISK) & Formats HD during Install of Windows XP from XP CD.
Set BIOS to use CD-ROM as 1st boot device usually by pressing "F2" key during boot (startup),
for some Computers press "Del" key
Re-start Computer & when message "Press any key to boot from CD" shows do it & let subsequent messages "Press any key...." time out to Windows setup.
