explorer problems.

i cannot connect to the internet through internet explorer.my cable modem is not showing in the connections tab.although it does show up in internet connections.can anyone tell me how to get it back.

More detail please.  Are you connecting to the cable modem by ethernet or by USB?  Have you tried resetting the cable modem by turning everything off, then turning on the modem, waiting about 5 minutes for the network to sycnronize, then turning on the computer?  What connections show up in Network Properties?  What exactly do you mean when you say "my cable modem is not showing in the connections tab.although it does show up in internet connections"?  On which screens are you looking?

thank you very much for replying i tried resetting, no luck. i connect using usb when i tried to connect through internet explorer it says cannot find server and if i go to internet options then click on connections there is nothing there or any connection. i dont no if it has been deleted by mistake and i dont no how to get it back but the connection does show up on network connections in windows

For a USB connection, you need to have the software for the USB cable modem installed on your system.  Try reinstalling that software.

I can connect to the internet with the cable modem but only by msn. should i still try reinstalling the software.
