Dave,
Thanks for the link. I have seen that page, however issue is there is no network adapter in device manager so didn't know what to do next. Any ideas what that would mean or what I can do to sort that?
All the disks I have from dell dont seem to have anything to install network adapters. Not sure what to do next??
Thanks again for any help you can provide....

Thanks for the reply. Its a Dimension 2400.
I'm not majorly technical, but have had several PC's and reinstalled windows with no problems. I'm not sure what the chipsets are, therefore cannot be sure. How do you install chipsets, would these be on one of the disks?
I have a CD for the data/fax modem driver and Resource CD. I believe I have downloaded everything from these disks, however still cannot see network adapter in device manager. I just can't see anything related to network adapters, I have searched within the content of the CD's too.
In device manager, under Other Devices, I have yellow question marks for Ethernet Controller, SM Bus Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller and Video Controller. I managed to download the PCI Controller driver as this was in this list, however is not now. I am thinking I would at least need the Ethernet Controller drivers, which I can't locate. I may be way of track here though...?
Do you think I would be best to start again with the OS? Would it be possible for you to advise the steps I need to take to install the chipsets and drivers?
Again any assistance is most greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Shona (onashi)

It is evident from the list of problem devices that you have not installed the chipset drivers. The chipset drivers should be on the Resouce CD. Windows will not be able to install drivers for the other devices until the chipset drivers are installed. Once the chipset drivers are installed, you can install the drivers for the ethernet network adapter, video adapter, and audio adapter. If you can't find them on the CD, they can all be downloaded from:
