You could do a clean reinstallation of Windows XP which would remove existing drivers, then install the drivers after the operating system has been installed. Alternatively, you can go into Device Manager and delete the peripherals for which you wish to reinstall drivers, reboot and let Windows detect them, then install the drivers at that point.
Why do you think the drivers are decreasing your system performance?
