how to reinstall windows from black screen?

I turned on my Inspiron 5160 this morning and got a black screen with the message that Windows was missing or corrupted.  I have the Windows XP Home disk but cannot get it to start up.  How do I do this?

Hi gaylesulli, What you can do is to press CTRL + F11 when you see the dell splash screen and repair windows. Also your manual is HERE in PDF form.
