javascript:OpenWin( error message

I open my email and hit the links but nothing opens.  It gives me the error message above.  In another forum, someone told me to try downloading the latest java and I did but it still didn't help.  If anybody can provide additional assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I have a Dimension 8400 with SP2 updated in September.

bluedb,

Can you post the error message in it's entirety?

Mike.

The error message titled above is the only thing that shows when I open the link.  It is also the same message show at the bottom toolbar.

bluedb8,

Try this from within " Internet Explorer":

" Tools | Internet Options... | Settings... | View Objects..."

See if there are any item(s) in there that are 'damaged' or 'corrupted', if so, remove them.

Also, make sure your not 'blocking' Javascripts:

" Tools | Internet Options... | Security | Internet | Custom Level...", check to see if it's disabled.

There was one item damaged and unknown, but I removed them as suggested and I still doesnt work.  All scripting is enabled and Internet Explorer pop-up blocker disabled as well.

bluedb8,

Here's a few things I can suggest:

  • Thunderbird is Mozilla's free e-mail client; Firefox is the browser. You might have to contact MSN to get the name(s) for your e-mail servers and let them help you setup the account.
  • Re-install IE.
  • Use "sfc /scannow" from the command line; I doubt this will work, but it's worth a try.
  • Post us up a HiJackThis log to review.
  • What are you using an your e-mail client?

Mike.
