Check your firewall and make sure it's not blocking it. It's a "new" program and depending on the firewall you will have to authorize access for the new program.

I installed I.E.7 this morning and had to do that with my firewall (zone alarm).

The MS site is meant for you to set certain settings on the first time running IE7. It will continue to come up when you launch IE7 until you sucessfully view it and save settings.

Unfortunately, it was getting hammered hard this morning. Try it again later or just keep hitting refresh when it times out.

It is good to have an answer. I went to a M.S. newsgroup yesterday and everybody was complaining but no one had an answer except to use a work around that I could not run  = gpedit.msc - My machine said the operaton could not be performed.
I ended up removing msie 7 - I really didn't like the features. I got on line by clicking on the 'home' tab.
Thank you.

Do you know if msie will still be supported after the release of msie 7?

according to this, it will be supported for the life cycle of XP SP2 (presuming you are running SP2)
