Some specifications about your computer will help. Did you installed anything new to the computer hardware/software. Any wireless device???
Even the printer you have could be a reason. Do you get the blue screen when loading Windows, or while you are using it?

Hi,

I too will address this latest post here.  I agree, did you install any new software or hardware since you got the computer?  If so, that's probably your problem.  Also, are you running Norton Antivirus and is it updated to run on Vista or is any antivirus software updated to run with Vista?  If not, that could very well be a big problem.  Also, since you got your computer, did you install Vista or did it come with the computer already installed?  Have you run Windows Update since you've gotten the computer?  And this is a long shot, but I've heard (don't know if it's true) that if your computer takes a long time to  boot and freezes once-in-a-while, you can change your startup programs to include only those that are needed to run the computer smoothly----directions to do this can be found here---   http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

Oh, also, have you checked Dell's site for "Drivers and Downloads"?  Sometimes there is an update there that will fix your driver problems.  I'd highly recommend checking there, especially if the update is labeled "Critical".   Important, make sure that the page you are on for the driver updates is for the Vista operating system.  That should be listed at the top of the page and sometimes you have to select it!.

Just noticed.  To quickly get to Dell's "Driver's and Downloads" page, a link is listed right on this page, to the left, under "Dell Support Tools".  ;-)

Hi Dee,

It states that the application name is iexplore.exe.  Can always try to uninstall your Internet Explorer then reinstall it.  Download the "new" Internet Explorer to your hard drive, just don't  install it.  Then uninstall your old Internet Explorer and then install the new one.

Gooood morning Dee,

Netmeter is Freeware that you must have downloaded to your computer.  Here is the description--

- NetMeter - NetMeter is a small, customizable network bandwidth monitoring program for Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT4/2000/XP. NetMeter is and will always stay freeware. The program has been tested extensively on Windows 2000 and XP, but it should work just as well on all other Win32 operating systems. NetMeter can show upload and download speeds, and cumulative weekly and monthly volumes of files uploaded and downloaded. FREE SOFTWARE.

It appears that it has NOT been tested for use with Vista!  Yes, I'd get rid of it.  You might want to wait to reinstall Internet Explorer then.  Netmeter may very well be your problem.   If you get the blue screen after you uninstall Netmeter, then you may want to try to reinstall Internet Explorer.  Good luck.
