new harddrive; Drivers and utilities missing

So my harddrive for my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop and i just bought a new Western digital scorpio blue 250 gb hardddrive. So i decided to install it myself because of 1) it seemed simple enough (2 screws) and 2)had no money to dish out for some guy to take out two screws. So i get it all set up and i put in my windows vista reinstallation disk, everything works fine and i get onto windows in no time. then i needed to install the drivers and utilities. this is where my problem starts, as i put the disk in the cd drive didnt sound like it should of. It also wasnt recognized on the "my computer" menu under the D: drive. Help?

If the drivers and utilites disc is corrupt you can download whatever you need from the Dell downloads.  One caution, do not use the Dell download manager, download each needed driver individually.  HERE is the access point for the downloads, use your service tag number and it will only show applicable downloads.

Hi, Have you gone into your BIOS by pressing F2 at startup, then highlighting your new drive, and pressing the Enter button to enable your hard drive.
