Hmmm - the files open when I do that! Very strange - but I now think I know what the problem is (or at least what is contributing to it.) I did a registry tweak (see
PCAnswers-Tutorial) to create COPY TO FOLDER and MOVE TO FOLDER items in context menu. Having now reversed that tweak all is back to normal.
Seems that in Windopws XP there is no gain without pain!!!!!

Actually, I was thinking that you might be moving the mouse ever so slightly while clicking on one of the files and XP interpreted that as an attempt to move. But your answer was far more interesting. :smileywink:
