.pdd-file "open with"

Why don't you find out?  Right click on the file, then left click on Open With and try to open it.

HOWEVER, if you don't know what you were sent, you should NEVER open an attachment until verifying with the sender what they sent you AND that you wish to open it.

Yeah. I did.

It appears as if the .pdd-file is in Adobe PhotoDeluxe format, and that only Adobe PhotoDeluxe will open it.

I found a "HTML Miscellaneous Place" on the Internet, however, that described a procedure for converting the .pdd to .bmp-format, and I may suggest that procedure to the sender if it is absolutely necessary for me to view his image. At the moment, I am awaiting his reply to a question about whatever the image represents.

I thank you for your generic warning about opening unknown files, and will post that warning in the appropriate hemisphere of my cerebral cortex for quick recall.

The sender should be able to convert it to BMP or JPEG.

I tell people I know, including my mother, to NEVER open an attachment from me unless they are expecting it.
