problem with a user32.dll file
I AM NOT ABLE TO GET ONTO MY COMPUTER.. WHEN I TURN IT ON I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT READS STOP:C000007B (BAD IMAGE) THE APPLICATION OR DLL\??|C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\USER32.DLL IS NOT VALID WINDOWS IMAGE. PLEASE CHECK THIS AGAINST YOUR INSTALLATION DISK I HAVE RESTARTED THE COMPUTER F12 TO RESTART WITH THE CD HELP DISK.. GOTTEN AS FAR TO THE REPAIR AND THE DOS PROMPT, BUT THAT IS IT I READ ON HERE TO TYPE IN extract D:\i386\user.dll_c:\windows\system32\user32.dll and press ENTER.. I get an error message that reads command is not recognized. I HAVE WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER AND MY COMPUTER IS A DELL E310.. I AM HOPING TO FIX THIS WITHOUT HAVING TO DO A TOTAL RECOVERY.. I HAVE A FEW FILES I AM HOPING THAT I WILL NOT HAVE TO LOOSE.. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS
